Annie Malone Announces Grand Opening of Annie M’s Seventh Story Café at the Carnahan Building Café to offer Breakfast and Lunch items in spacious Cafe

St. Louis, MO – Just when people were getting use to having good and reasonably priced food for breakfast and lunch at City Hall, Annie M. strikes a new chord. On Tuesday, December 9, in the Carnahan Building located at 1114 Market Street on the seventh floor, a ribbon cutting ceremony set for 10:30 a.m. will mark Annie M’s Seventh Story Café’s grand opening. This Café will conveniently offer breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Its spacious surroundings will allow the public to learn more about services, programs, events, and volunteer opportunities offered through Annie Malone Children & Family Service Center.

Annie M’s Seventh Story Café is a part of an entrepreneurial endeavor of Annie Malone, a social service agency that has served St. Louis for over a century. The Café is an extension of Annie Malone’s on-going food and catering service, Annie M. Fine Cuisine. Annie M. Fine Cuisine also caters lunches, dinners, receptions and special events for individuals, area businesses and corporations.

A portion of the Café’s proceeds will be used to offset the costs of Annie Malone’s programs and services. Annie Malone serves more than 800 children and families, annually, through its residential treatment program, therapeutic school (Emerson Academy), transitional living program, early learning center and respite care services.

“The support we hope to gain from our customer base will help us fulfill our mission of providing quality services to children and families,” said Richard L. King, Chief Executive Officer of Annie Malone. “In this economic climate we feel blessed to be able to grow our café business and look forward to building positive relationships with our customers,” he declared.

In hopes to satisfy everyone’s appetites working and visiting in the building, the menu will include fresh brewed coffee, an assortment of baked delights, fruit, hot and cold breakfast items, deli sandwiches, wings, salads, home-made soups, assorted beverages and snacks. The menu will also include a ‘Specialty of the Day’. “I am extremely happy that we are opening up our second café at the Carnahan Building. We hope to provide a food service that pleases our customers and affords an opportunity for some of our adolescents to learn the business,” stated King.

Currently, Annie M. Café at City Hall continues to offer a variety of foods on the lower level of City Hall. Both cafés will be open for service Monday – Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Breakfast is served 7:30 am to10:00 am and lunch is available 11:00 am to 2:30 pm. For more information, please call (314) 531-0120. Interviews and photos are welcome.
